Top-toberfest: A Celebration of Tops and Tees

After a month of stashbusting in September I may have had a fabric supply relapse.  The first of October I found myself stocking up on yummy knits.  I found some great remnants at Joann's....

Why can't I find striped knit yardage?  Anyone have a good source?

...some super clearance deals at Wal-Mart,

and a healthy amount of knit yardage at the thrift store.

It appears that I need to bust my knit stash already.  I have decided to have a week dedicated specifically to tops and tees.  What do you think?

I've decided to call my week of tops and tees "Top-toberfest", ridiculous I know, but I myself am a bit ridiculous. I plan on sharing a top that I have either made from scratch, or repurposed every day, starting on October 18th. There will be a few tutorials, and hopeful a downloadable image or two.

I've been inspired by some of the new fall shirts and blouses out there, and I can't wait to make some new shirts.

Do you want to participate in the celebration? I am hoping to have a linky page where you can link up your embellished or sewn tops and tees.  It will be open all week long. You can feel free to share past projects, they need not be new.  I  hope that you'll participate with me in the first ever (and perhaps one and only) Top-toberfest. So look through your past projects so that you can link up your favorites starting Monday.  You also have the rest of the week to start on a new top.

Feel free to grab a button from my side bar to show that you are participating.

looking forward to seeing the results of your Top-toberfest! That name is totally great by the way. I am a huge fan of the ridiculous :)

Great idea! Love the name too. :)

I found some nice stripe knits at Joanns but I'm trying really hard to use up what I have. They didn't have a large variety but I really wanted the green on green and pink on pinks. I think it was $8/yard, plus they always have those 40% off coupons.

I've seen a few thicker stripe knits online but they're out of my budget for now.

I love it! The name, the idea, everything. I've been planning a big tshirt makeover fest since I cleaned out my dresser a few weeks ago... We'll see if I can get my act together soon enough to join Toptoberfest. :) Can't wait to see your creations!

Ahhh - Thank you - I need to vamp up my closet , and have more shirts I love to wear - and not stand in the closet for 30 minutes each day wondering what I am going to wear....
