Leather Business Card Holder Tutorial

When I redesigned  my blog I decided that it was time to redesign my business cards as well. Along with new business cards, comes a pretty new case to carry them in.

The business card case is constructed the same way as my e-reader, and ipod cases: leather on the outside, wool felt on the inside.

First, you need to cut two rectangles of leather, 2 3/4"x 4 1/4". Cut two pieces of felt the same dimensions.

Next, cut a triangle out of the top of one of the pieces of leather and felt.  For the tan case, I  measured 1.25" down on the right side. Cut a line from the top left corner to the 1.25" mark on the right.

Here are your cut pieces of material.

I decided to add a bit of lace to the angled edge of the front of the case.

For the actual construction of the case you can reference my e-reader sleeve tutorial.  You can attach the lace to the front piece at the same time that you stitch the top edge of the felt and leather together.  Make sure to stitch down lace along the bottom edge as well. Stitching for the sides and  bottom of the business card case is about 1/6" from the edges.
