I recently made a new skirt for myself. I used Simplicity Pattern 0499. I was quite excited to make the skirt when I found this bouclé fabric. I love the mustard yellow nubs on the neutral background. The fabric itself is a bit too heavy for the skirt design, but I am still content, not thrilled, but content with the results.
I wish I would have been able to get the fabric to cooperate in the bow detail, but it wasn't going to happen.
I'm linking up here.
How brave of you to use boucle! I have never made anything with boucle and, in fact, only know what boucle is because of the textile science class I took in college (from which I remember very little, sadly). :)
ReplyDeleteI think the black tights look fine, but maybe some mustard yellow to match the little nubs? Bold, but with a black top and shoes I think it would look good...
What a fun fall skirt! I think it would look cute with plum, grey, navy, or standard boring nude tights. (and I don't think the black looks bad). I had a similar issue with a bow on a dress I made my little girl. I cut the sash/tie too thick for the length. I like it better knotted.
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for tights. How about some tall boots?
ReplyDeleteThis is cute! I'd go with tall boots too.
ReplyDeleteYou should come link this up to my weekly Thursday Making It With Allie Link Party! I think it would make a Fabulous addition!

This skirt is really functional and stylish. I love how the fabric gives it a different look -- and your right those little yellow dots are cute! As for tights, I like them with black, but the other suggests above are good too... even boots!
ReplyDeleteThis is the cutest skirt ever! I just did a post on my blog of a suede vintage piece kind of similar! Come check it out!
