With the holidays on the way it is hard to justify sewing for myself, but lately that's the only thing that I have felt inspired to do. I'm thinking that it's probably due to the fact that I need something new to make me feel comfortable in my postpartum body. I'm thinking that come January I'm going to spoil myself with a comfy knit dress, a new sweater, and some fun accessories. Here are just a few things that have been inspiring me lately. Any ideas on how to make a knit dress nursing friendly?

Selfish Sewing Pinspiration
First off thanks to all of you that expressed interested in a tutorial for the nursing sleep bra. Sometimes I wonder whether or not people read my blog, so I always love to receive feedback. I'd hoped to have the tutorial up this week, but a bout of Mastitis has left me without much energy. Hopefully I'll have it ready for you at the beginning of next week.

Gorgeous! And you definitely deserve something to make you feel amazing in the postpartum phase, especially after a bout of mastitis! Ouch!
ReplyDeleteThe first dress, the yellow one, gets my vote for most nursing friendly. It looks like you could just pull the v-neck part down...? Or at least disguise another layer like the expensive nursing tops, maybe? Good luck!
I am so sorry you've got mastitis. :( I had it three times and I thought I was going to die. It's the worst. Feel better soon!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the first dress!! I could never nurse with a pulldown style, so it was skirts and tops for me. But maybe a skirt and top out of the same knit could look like a dress??
I loved knit dresses with surplice tops when I was nursing frequently! The first one could totally work. Higher necked dresses are pretty inconvenient, but you can get the same effect with a high necked top tucked into a skirt.
ReplyDeleteMastitis sucks (sorry, worst pun ever). Make sure to get plenty of rest. Blech.
aw man, mastitis is the worst. I hope you're feeling better soon! I love the top dress, too!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love comments? Don't know why more people don't leave 'em...
ReplyDeleteAnd that SUCKS about the mastitis! Poor you! I hope it clears up quickly!
